Job Title: Head of New Product Planning and TA Strategy, Immunology

Location: Cambridge, MA

About the Job

The Global Head of New Product Planning (NPP) and TA Strategy, Immunology, reporting to the Global Franchise Head, Immunology, will play a critical role in the future growth of the franchise. The NPP Head will support the Immunology franchise heads in commercial, development, and research activities, developing and implementing the therapy area strategy. They will lead an experienced team of NPP professionals and collaborate across project teams to provide commercial leadership and strategic direction for products progressing from pre-clinical to commercialization. The NPP head is expected to work with internal and external stakeholders to evolve and adopt therapy and disease area strategies, and will annually lead a cross-functional effort to update our TA strategy. Additionally, they will partner with Business Development and M&A teams to assess external opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Global Immunology NPP team.
  • Support the Global Franchise Head of Immunology and the heads of Research and Development in developing and implementing therapy and disease area strategies, prioritizing growth opportunities.
  • Partner with global project teams to provide commercial direction on pipeline planning and product development, ensuring early commercial planning and execution.
  • Develop commercial strategies for key assets aligned with global business unit goals.
  • Support program teams through governance processes, providing leadership within the franchise, R&D, and investment committees.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence to identify current and future trends in disease settings and across the therapy area.
  • Understand and communicate regulatory, market access, and market differentiation requirements for successful product commercialization.
  • Ensure smooth transition of commercial insights to the Global Brand Lead and brand team.
  • Collaborate with business development and M&A teams to align the BD roadmap with GBU strategy and evaluate potential synergies.
  • Work with R&D, commercial, and regional teams to define disease and commercial areas of interest for Immunology.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team, fostering cross-functional coordination.

About You

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA, MS, or PhD in life sciences preferred.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in Immunology indications is highly preferred.
  • Experience in new product planning, pre-launch/early commercialization, business development, or in-line launch activities.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, planning, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage credibly with scientific and drug development stakeholders; familiar with drug development from discovery to commercialization.
  • Results-driven, capable of managing multiple projects with urgency.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment with cross-functional partners.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present strategies, opportunities, and risks clearly.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel up to 25% internationally.
