Our client is seeking a Head of Merchandising with bags of energy to lead a high performing area, which is the largest in the business. Reporting directly into the Managing Director and leading a team of 14 with 4 direct reports. This role will manage sports and branded merchandising teams. Therefore, footwear experience is a must.
You will lead on strategy, manage the P&L budget, build excellent relationships with the brands and deliver profit and manage risks to ensure timely delivery of product into the business. Initiate a flexible stock planning and buying process that accommodates new store openings, sub-brands and other new business opportunities, whilst overseeing planning and forecasting for the division and ensuring commercial decisions on price, shipments and quantities to deliver target intake and exit margins. Your experience will ensure that you can optimize open to buy and repeats whilst identifying trading risks and actioning accordingly.
You must be an experienced Merchandise manager or better still currently a Head of Merchandising. A confident leader to manage the performance of the team, setting objectives and provide coaching and development opportunities.
Ideally you will have previous experience working with sports and branded footwear, leading and managing a large team and extensive knowledge and experience in stock and supplier management.
