Job description

This senior post ensures that Medical Physics provides a high quality and innovative medical physics and clinical engineering service at the Royal United Hospitals Bath.

As Head of Medical Physics, you will be responsible for leading, and managing the complete Medical Physics service. You will ensure that appropriate and high quality services are delivered to patients and staff across the Trust. You will also manage the complete Medical Physics budget to ensure the department provides the agreed savings each year. You'll be responsible for the strategic and clinical service development, clinical and organisational governance, and research and development.

You will additionally take on responsibility for areas of service or strategy delivery within the division or across the Trust as appropriate to their skills, interest and experience and be involved in national professional activities.

You will ensure that sound professional advice is given to management, medical and nursing staff on all aspects of physics and engineering in medicine and provide scientific leadership as well as act as a Trust expert in one or more scientific areas and as the clinical lead for the department.
