Clarus Education is supporting an ambitious academy in Hertfordshire to appoint a Head of Maths who will lead the Mathematics department and shape a high-quality curriculum and assessment framework.

The role is permanent, full-time with a January or April start. The successful candidate will drive teaching excellence, monitor progress with data, and develop staff to raise student attainment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
• Degree in Mathematics or strong mathematical background.
• Successful teaching experience in secondary education or academy.
• Experience leading a subject or curriculum area preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage the Mathematics department.
• Set curriculum vision for teaching, learning and assessment.
• Develop and maintain an ambitious, well-sequenced Maths curriculum.
• Teach high-quality Mathematics lessons across relevant age/ability ranges.
• Monitor progress and use data to address underachievement.
• Lead departmental improvement planning and contribute to school improvement.
• Support and develop Maths team members.
• Promote consistent planning, teaching, assessment, marking and feedback.
