Job summary

Outcomes First Group’s Longdon Hall School in Lichfield seeks an inspirational Head of Maths to lead the development and delivery of a high-quality curriculum, raising achievement and guiding examinations.

You will manage the Maths department, coach staff, analyse performance data and collaborate with families and partners to support student success. The role begins January 2027 at Longdon Hall School with a term-time contract.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS and substantial experience teaching Mathematics.
• Proven track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes for students.
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire, coach and develop colleagues.
• Be confident in curriculum design, assessment, moderation and quality assurance.
• Have excellent knowledge of the Maths curriculum and examination requirements.
• Be able to analyse performance data and use it to inform teaching, learning and improvement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of the Maths curriculum.
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Maths department and support a culture of high expectations and achievement.
• Drive improvements in teaching, learning, assessment and student progress across the subject.
• Coach, develop and motivate staff to deliver outstanding educational outcomes.
• Monitor curriculum quality through assessment, moderation and performance analysis.
• Teach Maths and prepare students for examinations and accredited qualifications.
• Support students' academic, personal and social development through high-quality teaching and pastoral care.
• Collaborate with families, external agencies and colleagues to support student success.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and the continued development of the school's curriculum offer.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive.
