Job summary

Epsom and Ewell High School, part of the Bourne Education Trust, invites applications for a Head of Maths to lead teaching and learning across the Maths department. You will oversee curriculum development, assessment, and staff development, setting high standards and implementing improvements; safeguarding and CPD are prioritized.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across Maths.
  • Oversee strategic department development including self-evaluation and improvement plan.
  • Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions.
  • Develop the curriculum, schemes of work and assessments across key stages.

Start Date: ASAP

Key responsibilities include:


  • Ensure excellent standards of teaching & learning across the subject.

  • Take responsibility for the strategic overview of the department, including self-evaluation and the improvement plan for the department.

  • Monitor student progress and implement strategic intervention for the department.

  • Develop the curriculum, schemes of work and assessment across all key stages.


Requirements include:


  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.

  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.

  • Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development.
