Job description

A successful and well-established professional services organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Marketing to lead and elevate its marketing, communications and business development activity.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded, relationship-led business with a strong reputation in its market and ambitious growth plans already in place. Having built its success through the quality of its work, long-term client relationships and collaborative culture, the organisation is now looking to further strengthen its market presence and strategically support the next stage of growth.

The business has identified significant opportunities across key regional markets and is looking for a commercially minded marketing leader who can help translate growth ambitions into targeted marketing activity, stronger market visibility and increased client engagement.

This role would suit an individual who enjoys operating at both strategic and operational level and is motivated by the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders, shape direction and see the tangible impact of their work.

About the role:

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the marketing agenda across the organisation, working closely with Directors and regional leaders to align marketing activity with business objectives and growth priorities.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and delivering a commercially focused marketing and communications strategy
  • Aligning marketing activity to business growth priorities, target sectors and regional ambitions
  • Translating regional growth plans into meaningful campaigns and measurable outcomes
  • Strengthening market positioning, visibility and brand consistency
  • Supporting business development activity through campaigns, content, events, PR and thought leadership
  • Overseeing website, social media, digital communications and profile-raising activity
  • Producing marketing insight, performance reporting and campaign measurement
  • Managing marketing budgets and external suppliers
  • Developing and maintaining marketing collateral and work-winning materials
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across the business, providing both strategic guidance and practical support
  • Leading and developing a Marketing Executive within a growing function

This is a highly visible position with the opportunity to shape the future direction of marketing within the organisation.

Location

The preference is for candidates to be based within Greater Manchester, Lancashire or the surrounding areas, enabling them to establish a regular presence within the business's North West offices.

We would also welcome applications from individuals based in North Yorkshire, provided they are comfortable travelling regularly and spending a significant proportion of their working time within the North West region.

Regardless of location, the successful candidate will be expected to work predominantly from the office, building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the business. In addition, the role involves regular travel to other office locations across Yorkshire, the North East and the Midlands, typically averaging around one day per week.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Salary range for this role is £60k - £75k and will be dependant on experience.

Experience

We are keen to speak with commercially minded marketing professionals who combine strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach.

You are likely to offer:

  • A strong B2B marketing background, ideally within the built environment, construction, property, professional services, consultancy, engineering or a related environment
  • Experience working across multiple offices, business units or regional teams
  • Experience developing and delivering marketing plans that support business growth and market expansion
  • The ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders and influence at leadership level
  • Strong skills across brand, communications, digital marketing, PR, content and events
  • A strong understanding of lead generation and the commercial contribution of marketing
  • Experience bringing structure, measurement and accountability to marketing activity
  • Excellent written communication and content creation skills
  • Strong organisational and project management capability
  • A collaborative, credible and pragmatic approach, with the confidence to challenge constructively when required

Whilst experience within the built environment or construction sector would be advantageous, we are also interested in speaking with individuals from adjacent professional services environments who can demonstrate the right combination of strategic marketing expertise, commercial awareness, multi-region experience and stakeholder management capability.
