Job summary

Reliable Recruit (Services) Ltd is seeking a Head of Logistics and Distribution to lead our client's Manchester operation on a permanent basis. You will supervise multiple sites across two countries, manage a team of distribution staff, and oversee receipt, storage, handling, packing, quality inspection and distribution of high-value goods.

The role requires import/export expertise, international travel including to Ireland, and flexibility to respond to urgent shipping or staffing issues;

Qualifications

• Senior logistics/distribution experience in multi-site environments.
• Experience leading warehouse/logistics teams.
• Import/Export paperwork and customs experience is advantageous.
• Passport for travel and ability to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with import/export processes and shipping documents.

Job description

Our client is Looking to recruit a Head of Logistics and Distribution to work primarily out of their Manchester site on a permanent basis

The work will involve:

• Supervising Multiple sites accross 2 different Countries
• Leading a team of Distribution Staff and overseeing company Logistics
• Responsibility for Receipt, Storage, Handling, Packing, Quality Inspection and Control and Distribution of High Value Goods
• Understanding and implementing Import and Export Processes, meeting customs requirements and ensuring accuracy of international Shipping documents
• Working with management team to hire, train and develop staff
• Frequent Travel between the site in Ireland and Manchester and occasional travel elsewhere internationally

Working times and pay:

• Monday to Friday
• 09:00-17:30, 16:30 finish on Fridays
• Circa 50,000 per annum dependant on experience
• Long service awards including increasing Annual Leave, Pension Contributions, Private Healthcare, Training and Development, Company Social Events

Skills/Experience Needed:

• Previous & Recent Experience in a Senior Logistics/Distribution Role
• Experience managing and developing Warehouse/Logistics Teams
• Import/Export Paperwork and customs experience would be advantageous to this role
• Passport for Travel Purposes
• Able to travel internationally as needed
• Flexibility in working hours and availability is essential to respond to urgent shipping, customs, quality, staffing or site issues that may arise outside normal working patterns
