Job summary

The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury is seeking a Head of Lighting to lead our lighting department, overseeing planning, operation, and maintenance of lighting, video and atmospheric systems across Main House, Studio, tours and events. You will manage a team of technicians, work with visiting companies, ensure safety and high standards, and act as deputy to the Technical Manager when required.

This is a permanent full-time role with 37 hours per week and anti-social hours options; the theatre

Responsibilities

• Lead the lighting department, planning, operation and maintenance of lighting, video and atmospheric systems across Main House, Studio, touring productions and special events.
• Manage a team of technicians, provide expert technical advice, solve production challenges and ensure safety and high professional standards.
• Deputise for the Technical Manager when required and contribute to department development and resource planning.
