Oldham is an ambitious borough with a strong sense of purpose. We're already delivering significant organisational transformation and are looking for an outstanding leader to help shape the next phase of our workforce and culture journey.
As our Head of Learning & Culture, you'll play a pivotal role in creating an organisation where people can thrive, develop and perform at their best.
This is a varied and influential role that combines strategic leadership with operational delivery. One day you could be helping to shape workforce strategy with senior leaders; the next, overseeing leadership development programmes, workforce wellbeing initiatives, apprenticeships or organisation-wide engagement activity.
You’ll lead our Organisational Development and Learning & Development functions, providing direction across leadership development, talent management, workforce engagement, wellbeing, apprenticeships, reward and recognition and culture change programmes. You’ll also work closely with senior leaders to drive the delivery of our Workforce & Culture Strategy and embed the values and behaviours that make Oldham a great place to work.
We’re looking for someone who can confidently operate at both a strategic and operational level. You’ll have experience of leading organisational development and cultural change within a complex environment, coupled with the ability to turn strategy into practical action and measurable outcomes. You’ll be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, leading high-performing teams and delivering multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a visible and lasting impact on the experience of our workforce and on the services we deliver to residents.
