Job summary

Oldham Lifelong Learning Service is seeking an ESOL Programme Leader to support the Curriculum Manager in delivering ESOL across all Lifelong Learning centres. The role involves overseeing teaching hours, supporting part-time staff, and ensuring budgets within the curriculum are managed effectively.

The post requires Level 4/5 ESOL specialism, suitable teaching qualifications, ICT skills and experience in the Post-19 sector.

Qualifications

  • Relevant teaching qualification at level 4 (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE, B.E).
  • Minimum of Level 4/5 ESOL subject specialism qualification.
  • Qualified to level 4/5 in a relevant subject specialism area and/or willing to achieve within 2 years.
  • Teaching experience in a curriculum area relevant to the post.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Curriculum Manager to develop, deliver and monitor ESOL across the Service.
  • Assist in management and support of part-time teaching staff; deliver contracted teaching hours; manage budgets within the curriculum.
  • Contribute to planning and reviewing Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan.

Salary: £36,035 - £38,757 pro rata

Hours: 18.33 per week

Based: Based at Coldhurst Lifelong Learning and working across all Lifelong Learning centres

Role Overview:
  • To assist the Curriculum Manager to develop, deliver and monitor all aspects of ESOL across the Service.
  • To assist in the management and support of part-time teaching staff in the team. To deliver the contracted teaching hours to learners and to comply with the administrative tasks and quality assurance associated with the post. To take responsibility for identified budgets within the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To assist in the development management of the staff team, ensuring the implementation of all Service policies.
  • To assist in the identification of new developments and initiatives within the Service.
  • To assist with data and financial monitoring procedures.
  • To contribute to planning and reviewing of the team’s Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan, in line with the Service Plan and Directorate and Corporate objectives.
Key Requirements:
  • Relevant teaching qualification at level 4 e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE, B.E
  • Minimum of Level 4/5 ESOL subject specialism qualification
  • Excellent organisational skills will be needed to assist the Curriculum Manager with the development and management of teaching and learning within the Post 19 sector: with Practitioner experience in the curriculum area relevant to the post.
  • Relevant knowledge of ICT / digital skills
  • Relevant teaching qualification e.g. C & G 7307, Cert Ed, PGCE, B.Ed.
  • Qualified to level 4/5 in a relevant subject specialism area and or willing to achieve within 2 years.
  • Teaching experience in a curriculum area relevant to the post.
