Location: Birmingham

Salary: Base salary: £67,450 pa to c.£84,350 pa depending on skills and experience. We also offer a flexible benefits fund of 20%, paid on top of the base salary, which is fully pensionable, along with a range of competitive benefits available on our website.

About the Role:

• Lead strategy and operations to secure and implement land powers, including access, referencing, and the delivery of compulsory purchase powers aligned with the construction program.
• Develop and embed a land assembly function, including policies, governance, and processes, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
• Manage the preparation and service of compulsory purchase notices, land referencing, and related legal compliance.
• Oversee budgets, supplier performance, and land and property deliverables for various Orders and Acts.
• Provide expert advice on compulsory purchase, land referencing, and land assembly, acting as a subject matter expert.
• Maintain a register of notices and ensure information accessibility across HS2.
• Ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards, manage procurement frameworks, and lead multiple supplier teams.
• Coordinate between engineering, environmental, and land disciplines to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Manage land ownership information and promote EDI initiatives.

About You:

Skills

• Influence and relationship-building at senior levels, project delivery, team leadership, stakeholder and contract management, financial acumen, and communication skills.

Knowledge

• Understanding of compulsory purchase legislation, land interests, land registration, and project management.

Experience

• Extensive experience in implementing compulsory purchase powers, program management, digital mapping, and team leadership.
