Job description

We are searching for a Head of IT for a prestigious international business based out of South Devon.

The role is office-based so you will need to live within a commutable distance of Plymouth to be considered for the opportunity or you will be in a position to relocate to the area.

You will be responsible for leading and managing the IT Department, including infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, applications, development and support teams.

Other main duties will include:

• Managing all IT Department staff and having budget ownership for IT operations, projects and digital transformation initiatives.
• Selecting vendors, managing procurement and all contracts that relate to IT services and systems.
• Overseeing all IT assets, licenses, and taking responsibility for technology lifecycle management.
• Developing and executing enterprise level IT strategy.
• Delivering large-scale IT projects.
• Driving innovation, enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring data security and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
• Taking responsibility for data protection and compliance ensuring relevant industry standards are implemented and maintained throughout the business.

We are looking to speak with experienced Senior IT Leaders, people who have previously been responsible for developing and executing enterprise level IT strategy. This leadership role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on management, ensuring IT systems underpin design, engineering, production and all support functions within the business.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of delivering large-scale IT projects and will have excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

You will be a strategic thinker with commercial awareness and the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.

Any experience of working within manufacturing environments would be an added bonus and any professional qualifications, including, ITIL, CISSP, PMP or similar, would be extremely useful.
