About This Role

Birmingham Diocesan Multi-Academy Trust is looking to appoint a new Head of IT to our innovative and forward-thinking team. Our trust is committed to delivering exceptional education and support to all our students to achieve their full potential.

While our trust is predominantly primary phase, we also have one large secondary school, and we are particularly seeking someone with secondary school experience.

An ideal candidate would have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar IT Leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of Office 365, PowerShell, MIS systems
  • Experience in backup systems and disaster recovery planning
  • Experience in the educational sector
  • Confidence in communicating with stakeholders

This role is pivotal, and you will be required to oversee all IT operations, including:

  • Developing and delivering our IT Strategy
  • Leading and managing the IT team, ensuring high performance, professional development, and effective support
  • Working closely with MAT and school leaders as well as third-party providers to ensure continuity, security, and compliance
  • Overseeing IT infrastructure, network security, cloud services, and end-user support across all school sites
