Job summary

Chroma Recruitment is partnering with a Greater Manchester organisation to recruit a Head of IT. This senior role leads the IT function day-to-day, shapes the IT strategy and owns infrastructure, security and cloud environments. You’ll work with the leadership team to ensure technology meets business needs and drives performance.

You’ll manage cyber security, governance and disaster recovery, plus budgets and third-party partnerships, while developing the internal IT team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior technology leadership role (service desk manager / IT Manager / Head of IT / IT Director).
• Strong experience across IT infrastructure, cloud environments and business-critical systems.
• Good understanding of cyber security, IT governance, risk and disaster recovery.
• Experience managing and developing technical teams.
• Strong supplier, vendor and budget management experience.
• Track record delivering IT projects and technology change.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Pragmatic, commercially minded approach balancing strategy with delivery.

Responsibilities

• Establishing effective IT policies, processes and service standards.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to translate business priorities into technology solutions.
• Supporting and developing the IT team while remaining hands-on when required.

Chroma Recruitment is working with an established organisation in Greater Manchester that is looking to appoint a Head of IT to lead its technology function and help shape the next stage of its IT strategy.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day IT operation alongside longer-term technology planning. You’ll lead the internal IT team, take ownership of infrastructure, systems and security, and work closely with the wider leadership team to ensure technology continues to support the needs of the business.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in an service desk manager, IT Manager, Head of IT, IT Director or similar senior technology leadership role
• Strong experience across IT infrastructure, cloud environments and business-critical systems
• Good understanding of cyber security, IT governance, risk and disaster recovery
• Experience managing and developing technical teams
• Strong supplier, vendor and budget management experience
• A track record of delivering IT projects and technology change
• The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A pragmatic, commercially minded approach with the ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day delivery

What’s on offer:

• Salary of £60,000 - £75,000, depending on experience
