Cynergy Bank, the UK’s human digital bank, seeks a Head of Information Security to lead the strategic and operational security across the Bank. Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Information Security within regulated financial services.
• Strong understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
• Experience leading Security Operations, cyber incident response, governance, and risk management.
• Strong technical understanding of cloud security, IAM, enterprise infrastructure, and third‑party security risk.
• Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and challenge senior stakeholders, including Board and Executive audiences.
• Strong commercial awareness, balancing risk management with business objectives and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver a pragmatic Information Security Strategy that supports growth and resilience.
• Act as the Bank’s senior security advisor, influencing strategic initiatives across cloud and digital transformation.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing Information Security team with accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive cyber defence capability, overseeing security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, and risk management.

What's the Opportunity?

As Head of Information Security, you will lead the strategic and operational direction of information security across the Bank. You will be responsible for ensuring our security controls, frameworks, and capabilities remain proportionate, effective, and aligned with our business objectives, regulatory obligations, and risk appetite.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape long‑term security strategy, influence major technology investments, oversee critical cyber defence capabilities, and provide trusted advice to executives and Board stakeholders. This is a highly visible leadership role where your expertise will directly influence the security, resilience, and future success of the Bank.

How You Will Make an Impact

What You Will Bring

• Proven experience leading Information Security within a regulated financial services environment.

• Strong understanding of industry recognised frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.

• Experience leading Security Operations, cyber incident response, governance, and risk management activities.

• Strong technical understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, enterprise infrastructure, and third‑party security risk.

• Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and challenge senior stakeholders, including Board and Executive audiences.

• Strong commercial awareness, balancing risk management with business objectives and customer outcomes.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CCSP are highly desirable.
