Job summary

Matchtech is assisting a defence sector client in Templecombe to appoint a Head of Industry. This permanent leadership role will oversee manufacturing, supply chain, industrial engineering and continuous improvement in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, develop and deploy industrial strategies, and drive lean initiatives, Industry 4.0 adoption and digital tooling while maintaining delivery, quality and cost targets.

Qualifications

Significant experience leading within a complex manufacturing/industrial environment.
Experience managing cross-functional teams across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering and logistics.
Strong knowledge of lean techniques (5S, Kaizen, levelled pull, heijunka, visual control).
Understanding of Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing and strategic tech adoption.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end industrial operations across manufacturing, planning, procurement, integration, testing and delivery.
Develop and deploy industrial and supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives.
Manage complex manufacturing and supply chain activities to meet quality, time and cost targets.
Oversee industrial engineering from design to production for reliable solutions.
Lead continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives.
Ensure effective use of ERP/MRP/MES/QMS tooling to support controlled processes.
Manage industrial budget, monitor performance and participate in bids/reviews.
Promote collaboration, safety, environmental responsibility and operational excellence.
