Job summary

Confidential in the United Kingdom seeks a hands-on HR Generalist to lead HR and payroll end-to-end, trusted by leaders when sensitive issues arise. You will advise senior leaders on employee relations, absence, probation and performance, run payroll including statutory payments and pensions, and manage safer recruitment and pre-employment checks.

You’ll turn messy admin into simple systems and keep us ready for inspection.

Qualifications

• Must have HR management or generalist experience with UK employment practice.
• Experience running or managing payroll, including statutory and pension requirements.
• Experience with recruitment and pre-employment checks (Safer Recruitment training or willing to complete).
• Comfortable with HR databases and management information.
• Discretion is a standard, not a skill.

We need a hands-on HR generalist to lead HR and payroll end-to-end, someone leaders trust when a situation is sensitive and the answer can’t wait.

The role:

• Advising senior leaders on employee relations, absence, probation and performance
• Running payroll: employee changes, statutory payments, pensions
• Managing safer recruitment, pre-employment checks and the Single Central Record
• Turning messy admin into simple systems that work
• Keeping us ready for inspection

You’re probably who we’re looking for if:

• You have HR management or generalist experience with UK employment practice
• You’ve run or managed payroll, including statutory and pension requirements
• You’ve handled recruitment and pre-employment checks (Safer Recruitment training, or the willingness to complete it promptly)
• You’re comfortable with HR databases and management information
• You know discretion isn’t a skill, it’s a standard
• You stay calm under pressure and anticipate what needs to happen next

A plus:

• CIPD, a payroll qualification (such as CIPP), and experience in an education setting.
