Job summary

Southdown is seeking a strategic Head of Housing Operations in Lewes to lead housing management and property services. You will steer senior teams, translate strategy into operations, and ensure safe, compliant, customer-centered services across Sussex.

The role reports to the Director of Housing and Assets and involves leading service delivery, change, and performance across a multi-million pound budget while supporting excellent tenant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant senior management experience within social housing.
• Proven track record of leading managers and delivering high-performing services.
• Experience using data and insight to improve outcomes and customer experience.
• Experience leading change, transformation and digital innovation.
• Strong financial management and budgetary experience.
• Level 5 qualification in Housing (CIH or equivalent).
• DBS check paid by employer.
• Full driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for Housing Services and Property Services managers.
• Translate strategic priorities into operational plans and measurable improvements.
• Drive a culture of customer focus, continuous improvement and innovation.
• Lead governance, reporting and performance management for the portfolio.
• Oversee housing management services, repairs, maintenance and compliance.
• Manage significant operational budgets and reinvestment programmes.
• Ensure value for money and high-quality services for residents.
