Job summary

Blackburn with Darwen Council is seeking an inspirational Head of Housing and Inclusion to lead housing needs, homelessness, inclusion and community wellbeing. You will shape strategy across adults and health and partner with health, voluntary sector, and public services to deliver prevention and improve outcomes.

You will oversee homelessness response, asylum seeker support, social prescribing and community connector services, and drive co-production, trauma-informed practice and performance

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in housing, health or related field.
• Strong knowledge of homelessness, housing needs and community wellbeing.
• Experience transforming services, budgets and performance.
• Proven ability to build partnerships across councils, health and voluntary sector.
• Excellent communication, influencing skills and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead homelessness and housing needs services, preventing homelessness and rough sleeping.
• Develop safe and sustainable accommodation and respond to growing demand.
• Provide strategic leadership across the Council and partners to deliver outcomes.
• Oversee asylum seeker/refugee support; social prescribing and community connector services.
• Promote co-production, trauma-informed practice and effective partnership working.
