Job summary

Deyes High School, part of the growing Lydiate Learning Trust, is seeking an ambitious leader to become our next Head of History. This role leads a thriving History department in a popular secondary school with excellent GCSE and A-Level results and a commitment to outstanding teaching and learning.

Based in our new building (2024), you will enjoy superb facilities, supportive staff and opportunities for professional development, coaching and career progression within the Trust.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status with a degree in History or related subject.
  • Proven track record of successful History teaching and leadership potential.
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the History curriculum across KS3- KS5.
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning and outcomes.
  • Line manage and develop department colleagues.
  • Use data to monitor progress and improve results.
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and the wider life of the school.
  • Champion ambition, inclusion and academic excellence.
