Job summary

Romans Recruitment Group Ltd is looking for a Head of Group Purchasing (Construction) to lead procurement activities across their Newcastle upon Tyne location. The role involves managing supplier relationships, sourcing materials, and overseeing cost control within the group.

A competitive salary of £50,000 - £55,000 DOE, including a car allowance and various company benefits, is offered as part of this full-time, permanent position.

Qualifications

• Previous purchasing/procurement experience within construction.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing suppliers and subcontractor supply chains.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead all procurement and purchasing activities across the group.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiations and performance reviews.
• Source materials, goods and services to support operational requirements.
• Monitor supply chain risks, market trends and material availability.
• Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and systems.
