Job summary

The Resolute Group Ltd is seeking a Head of Design for a Ground Engineering specialist, leading the design team from tender to delivery across the UK. You will mentor engineers, manage resources, and develop innovative designs for subsidence, embankment stabilization, and bespoke groundwork packages.

The role combines hands-on design with technical assurance, overseeing bids, and presenting solutions to clients and Tier 1 contractors to ensure high standards are met.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified engineer (Civil or Geotechnical).
• Experience in Ground Engineering, preferably from a design consultancy.
• Willingness to travel and hold a UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the UK-wide geotechnical technical team.
• Mentor junior engineers for career growth.
• Allocate engineering resources across active projects.
• Produce hands-on designs for early tender submissions.
• Develop technical bid proposals for Tier 1 contractors.
• Review calculations for land slippage and subsidence.
• Ensure compliance with Eurocodes and UK standards.
• Consult with clients and Tier 1 contractors.
• Oversee design outputs from concept to delivery.
