Job summary

The Calico Group is seeking a Governance Director to provide strategic leadership for governance across the Group, ensuring effective decision-making and accountability.

You will advise Board Members and senior leaders on governance matters, oversee governance services, lead Board effectiveness reviews, and drive assurance frameworks. Hybrid working applies, with 2 days in Burnley. Salary around £57,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in managing Board and Committee meetings.
• Senior governance or company secretarial background.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Advising Senior Stakeholders on Corporate Governance matters.
• Excellent governance experience in a regulated sector.
• Strong people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for governance across The Calico Group, ensuring governance arrangements support objectives, effective decision-making and accountability.
• Advise Board Members and senior leaders on governance matters, governance assurance and best practice.
• Ensure governance support and assurance across the Group, Calico Homes, Syncora and Ring Stones.
• Oversee governance services delivered to Board and subsidiary Boards and Committees.
• Lead Board effectiveness reviews, recruitment, succession planning, induction, development and appraisal processes.
• Develop governance assurance methodologies, standards and reporting frameworks.
• Lead and develop the Governance Team.
• Contribute to strategic planning, policy development and corporate objectives.
