Job summary

The Calico Group in Burnley is seeking a Governance Manager to lead board and committee governance, ensuring effective processes and compliance across the organisation. This permanent role offers a salary of £42,961-£42,962 per year with hybrid working (2 days in the office).

You'll coordinate policy reviews, maintain governance documentation, support the SLT, and drive regulatory compliance. If you bring strong governance expertise and superb stakeholder skills, you will help shape governance

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience of managing Board and Committee meetings.
• Excellent background in Company Secretarial or Corporate Governance.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, standing orders, schemes of delegation, terms of reference, conflicts of interest, policy approval routes.
• Brilliant attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Board and Committee meetings; prepare agendas, circulate packs, minute meetings, and follow-up actions.
• Provide practical advice on governance procedures, delegated authorities, terms of reference and governance requirements.
• Manage governance documentation: Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, Schemes of Delegation, Terms of Reference and related governance documents.
• Manage internal governance meetings; book meetings, prepare and circulate agendas, meeting packs, and oversee actions.
• Support the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team.
• Coordinate policy review timetables and ensure documents progress through approval routes.
• Maintain oversight of assurance evidence relating to regulatory compliance requirements.
• Plan and deliver governance reviews and governance self-assessments, ensuring recommendations are tracked and reported.
