Job summary

Havant Borough Council is seeking a lead GIS Manager to build an in-house geospatial service and drive location intelligence across the organisation. You will set the strategic direction for GIS, oversee data quality, and champion data-driven decision making to improve services for communities.

You will collaborate with senior leaders, manage staff, and deliver modern GIS platforms, LLPG knowledge, and web mapping capabilities to enable transformation and better service delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in GIS or related field.
• Significant experience in GIS service delivery and data management.
• Strong knowledge of LLPG and BS7666.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of the in‑house GIS service.
• Oversee corporate geospatial systems and data integrity; translate geospatial insight into service improvements.
