Job summary

AKQA, part of WPP, seeks a Director, Generative AI Experience Engineering to shape the next generation of AI-native customer experiences across commerce, content and interfaces.

The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering across frontend systems, AI tooling and client advisory, guiding teams and clients through rapid experimentation and production delivery in a hybrid London-based environment.

Qualifications

• Must come from a strong engineering background with frontend architecture capability.
• Hands-on with AI-native architectures, scalable systems and modern frontend rendering.
• Ability to lead across architecture, engineering, delivery and client advisory.
• Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of AI-native experience platforms from frontend rendering to orchestration.
• Mentor a team of developers and drive engineering quality, direction and delivery standards.
• Work with senior client stakeholders to shape AI transformation conversations and roadmaps.
• Execute rapid proofs-of-concept and production acceleration in undefined technical territory.
