Job summary

Goodman Masson is partnering with a renewables business to hire a Head of FP&A in London. The role will set up and lead the FP&A function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning with direct reporting to the CFO and collaboration with PE investors.

You will drive monthly reporting, support strategic decision-making, and build a high-performing team. This is a hybrid role with three days in the office, offering significant growth and exposure to M&A activity.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with minimum 5 years PQE.
• Experience in PE-backed environment or large corporate beneficial.
• Ability to build and lead a small FP&A team.
• Strong systems understanding and willingness to leverage AI in finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-term planning and scenario analysis.
• Own monthly management reporting including revenue, EBITDA, cash flow and performance insights.
• Partner with CFO/CEO and operations to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Drive EBITDA growth and monitor value creation plans and investment cases.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital analysis and cash conversion.
• Prepare board packs and investor reporting for PE sponsor.

Job title: Head of Financial Planning and Analysis

Salary: £100,000 - £115,000 + bonus and benefits

Location: London hybrid working 3 days in the office

I am currently partnering with a newly acquired renewables business who are looking for a Head of FP&A to come and set up a FP&A function. My client will be growing massively over the next few years mainly through M&A activity. For this role you will have 1 direct report and have the opportunity to build out a best in class FP&A function.

For this role you will be reporting directly to the CFO as the right hand person while partnering with the PE investors. Ideally you will have worked in a similar role previously or looking to step up from a Senior FP&A Manager position, you will ideally have worked in a PE backed company or from a larger organisation.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-term planning and scenario analysis.
• Own monthly management reporting, delivering clear insight into revenue, EBITDA, cash flow and business performance.
• Partner with the CFO, CEO and operational leaders to identify risks, opportunities and performance improvement initiatives.
• Drive EBITDA growth and track delivery against the value creation plan and investment case.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital analysis and cash conversion.
• Prepare board packs, investor reporting and financial performance updates for the PE sponsor.
• Support strategic decision-making, investment appraisal, M&A and exit readiness where relevant.
• Improve financial models, reporting processes, systems and KPI visibility.
• Lead and develop the FP&A function, embedding a culture of commercial challenge, accountability and continuous improvement.

You will need to be consider:

• Qualified either ACA/ACCA/CIMA and a minimum 5 years PQE.
• PE or larger company experience to understand what good looks like.
• Build and led a small but efficient team.
• Strong understanding of systems and be able to bring in AI.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence decisions.
