Position Overview

Goodman Masson is seeking a Head of Financial Planning, Analysis & Strategy for an expanding SME bank in Central London. This key role involves deputising for the CFO, shaping strategic growth, and leading financial planning and analysis to support decision-making and performance management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategy, Business Partnering, and Governance:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives;
    • Act as a commercial partner, promoting profitable growth and operational excellence;
    • Drive innovation in business models and strategies;
    • Ensure high standards of operational control and transparency;
    • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitive positioning;
    • Provide accurate financial analysis and reporting to inform strategic decisions.
  2. Performance Management:
    • Develop frameworks and KPIs to track business performance;
    • Support performance reviews with actionable insights;
    • Lead initiatives to meet financial targets and optimize performance;
    • Manage and motivate the finance team to achieve KPIs.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
  • Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting;
  • Knowledge of regulatory environments and international financial practices;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience in risk assessment and financial management.

  • Qualified accountant with banking experience;
  • Ability to act in a CFO capacity when needed;
