Goodman Masson is seeking a Head of Financial Planning, Analysis & Strategy for an expanding SME bank based in Central London. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deputise for the CFO and shape the bank's strategic growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role involves strategic planning, decision-making, performance measurement, and risk management to drive profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, Business Partnering, and Governance:

• Collaborate with the CFO, CEO, and senior executives on strategy development and implementation
• Act as a commercial partner to the Executive team, fostering profitable growth
• Encourage innovative business models to enhance profitability
• Ensure operational control, accountability, transparency, and best practices
• Monitor strategic plan execution, market trends, and opportunities
• Conduct quarterly competitor analysis
• Provide analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts
• Develop financial models supporting strategic initiatives
• Report on financial and operational performance aligned with strategic goals
• Perform market analysis and benchmarking
• Communicate financial risks effectively

Performance Management:

• Develop and implement KPIs and performance frameworks
• Support monthly performance reviews with insights
• Drive initiatives to meet financial targets
• Partner with stakeholders to measure key performance metrics
• Lead and motivate the team to achieve KPIs

Requirements:

Technical:

• Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Knowledge of regulatory environments and global financial practices
• International experience within a regulatory framework
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in financial management and risk assessment

General:

• Qualified accountant with relevant banking experience
• Ability to act in the CFO's capacity when needed
• Understanding of banking operations and regulations
• Strong leadership and management skills within a matrix organization
