What to expect

The Head of Finance Business Partnering is a senior member of the Finance Business Partnering team, responsible for the development and delivery of functional strategies, always role modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset.

The Head of Finance Business Partnering - Banking, Financial Services & Strategy will partner the Chief Revenue Officer and their team for activities relating to Banking Products, Financial Services and wider Commercial Strategy. They will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance in the teams they lead, delivering and driving decision-making across the Business, Customers and Partners.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced Head of Finance with excellent leadership skills and qualities, demonstrate senior stakeholder relationships and expert finance advisor .

Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA & CIMA), very experienced finance professional working at senior levels with strong financial leadership skills.
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience leading large teams: collaborating with senior leaders, to shape and deliver functional strategy to achieve business objectives.
  • Substantial experience convening multiple stakeholders and through successful relationships, leading key cross-functional projects to drive results across the organisation.
  • Experience in leading and driving change aligned to functional and business strategies.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to develop and drive a commercially robust strategy, delivering bottom line value in a complex and / or fast-moving business.
  • Leading and developing a team of experienced finance professionals who are committed to driving the Transformation plan.
  • Demonstrate leadership and confidence and shared responsibility for the future of the business.
Skills and Capabilities
  • Empowering senior manager who can speak with knowledge, authority, and confidence in their subject matter, guiding their team toward success.
  • An expert advisor with ability to apply advanced knowledge of Finance and accounting specialism as well as broad knowledge of related areas.
  • An understanding of data privacy laws, governance, risk, and budget management
  • Advanced influencing and communication skills; using a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively make an impact and drive a successful outcome.
  • Ability to maintain strong and influential relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders to build support for business plans.
  • Strong commercial business acumen and ability to make data-driven business decisions.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to upholding the values and principles of Post Office.
  • A track record of actively promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within all areas of responsibility and in particularly in the Finance function.
  • A strategic thinker with the right balance of commercial acumen and adherence to strong governance principles, using financial analysis to shape decisions and provide assurance.
  • Strong sense of urgency to get things done.
  • Holding others accountable and challenging with diplomacy.
  • High level of 'energy, able to manage within an environment of complexity, ambiguity and change.
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, develop and drive cross functional teams and individuals to perform consistently at a high level.
