Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Head of Finance for a confidential tech-focused client in the United Kingdom. You will lead a small finance team, own financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash management and compliance, and partner with the CEO and Board to translate data into strategic insight.

The role demands ACA/ACCA/CIMA with strong post-qualification experience, advanced Excel, and a track record of AI-driven process improvements.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification with strong post-qualification experience.
• Experience leading a finance function in a small/medium business.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash management capabilities.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
• Confident communicating financial information to CEO and Board.
• Track record of using AI tools to improve day-to-day productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance function, developing a small team and ensuring robust financial processes and controls.
• Oversee month-end reporting, management accounts, KPI analysis and reporting for CEO and Board.
• Own forecasting model, annual budgeting and reforecasting with insightful analysis.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and treasury, including reporting to shareholders, banks and lenders.
• Ensure financial compliance, statutory reporting, audit requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Act as a trusted business partner to CEO and leadership, providing commercial insight.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes and AI-enabled efficiency.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll lead a small, close-knit finance team and take ownership of financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash management and compliance. You'll be a trusted partner to the leadership team, translating financial data into meaningful insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Description

• Lead the Finance function, managing and developing a small team while ensuring robust, scalable financial processes and controls.
• Oversee month-end reporting, management accounts, KPI analysis and financial performance reporting for the CEO and Board.
• Own the business forecasting model, annual budgeting and reforecasting processes, providing insight to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and treasury, including reporting to shareholders, banks and lenders.
• Ensure financial compliance, statutory reporting, audit requirements and regulatory obligations are met.
• Act as a trusted business partner to the CEO and wider leadership team, providing commercial insight to inform business performance and growth.
• Manage key external relationships and drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes and the use of AI to enhance efficiency.

Profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, with strong post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience leading a finance function within a small or medium-sized business.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash management capabilities.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence communicating financial information to senior stakeholders, including the CEO and Board.
• A track record of using AI tools to improve day-to-day productivity and business processes.

Job Offer

• Salary of £70,000 to £80,000.
