About the role
Finance plays a critical role in ensuring the sustainability and success of our university. We are seeking an ambitious, forward-thinking finance professional to join us asHead of Financeat a pivotal time in AUB’s journey, as we look to the next phase of University’s Strategy. This role offers the opportunity to influence and lead across a broad strategic finance agenda, supporting key finance decisions and ensuring the effective management of the University’s financial resources.
Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, the Head of Finance will be responsible for the effective and smooth running of the University’s finance function, maintaining high standards of financial control, compliance, and service delivery. They will provide accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to the CFO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure a clear understanding of the University’s financial position and to support key strategic and operational decision-making.
The role will also involve offering strategic financial advice to senior stakeholders, evaluating new business opportunities and partnerships, and leading on major financial projects, including system implementations, integrations, and enhancements that strengthen the University’s digital infrastructure and future resilience.
The Head of Finance will lead and inspire a professional finance team, ensuring high-quality services to students, staff, and external partners.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and influencing skills, a collaborative and empathetic leadership style, and the ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels. An understanding of how finance underpins the student experience—whether through service delivery, policy development, or fee management—is essential.
