Job description

We’re Craft Gin Club - the UK’s biggest spirits subscription service.

For almost a decade, we’ve been redefining the way people discover and enjoy new drinks from the convenience of their home. From our successful Dragon’s Den pitch to launching our new rum subscription and seeing our products appear on some of the UK High Street’s most prestigious shelves, it’s been quite the journey so far.

But there’s much more to come as we look to embrace new spirits, new channels and new markets through which to grow our business.

We are seeking a hands-on Head of Finance to help support us through an exciting time in our growth story, as we expand across categories, markets and sales channels, and develop our brand identity to match our future ambitions.

The Head of Finance will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for leading all aspects of financial management, FP&A, commercial finance modelling, and delivering actionable insights that will help drive business decisions. You will work closely with the CFO, CMO and CEO to optimise profitability, manage risk, and support operational scaling in a fast-paced subscription and eCommerce environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Controls:
  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, including ownership of more complex accounting areas.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition, deferred income accounting, stock reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Create monthly board packs, and KPIs for senior management and the advisory Board
  • Maintain strong financial controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Run monthly payroll and management of all employment related deductions.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, and key suppliers
  • Support CFO in management of tax advisors, HMRC, banks, and other external partners.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Build and maintain financial models forecasting revenue, costs, stock buys, direct and indirect cash flow, and profitability.
  • Lead rolling forecasts, and scenario planning processes, working alongside the CFO and CMO.
  • Deliver variance analysis and KPI-driven management reporting.
  • Work in tandem with data analysts and the growth team to create and maintain LTV models, and provide insight and recommendations for customer acquisition strategy based on forecast cohort behavioral analysis, and unit economics.
Operational Finance Leadership:
  • Ensure a robust lifecycle management of suppliers and B2B customers.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Acquisition and Retention to ensure campaigns are supporting marketing objectives and delivering results.
  • Work closely with our Product Development and Growth teams to forecast stock buys for own-brand and shop ranges.
  • Work closely with our Head of Supply channel to improve operational processes, and minimise financial losses.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to deliver high-quality financial reporting and commercial insight.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and proactive problem-solving.
