Job summary

MacGregor Black partners with a leading UK-based, multi-sector organisation to recruit a Head of Facilities for a confidential estate-wide role. You will oversee a large UK property portfolio, ensuring safety, compliance, cost-efficiency and continuous improvement across multiple sites.

The role requires on-site leadership five days per week, strong experience in facilities management, and the ability to drive strategic change while delivering tangible operational results.

Qualifications

• Senior Facilities Management leadership experience at a multi-site estate.
• Experience delivering FM across multi-sector environments (retail, industrial, logistics, hospitality or similar).
• Proven contract management, procurement, and supplier negotiation.
• Delivery of capital projects, refurbishments, and maintenance programmes in live environments.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end facilities management across a multi-site UK estate.
• Set up, tender, and manage key contractors, suppliers, and service partners.
• Develop and maintain statutory compliance schedules ensuring regulatory adherence.
• Own facilities budgets, ensuring robust cost control and continuous service improvement.
• Oversee building maintenance, refurbishments, and capital projects in live environments.
• Implement and maintain robust H&S, statutory compliance, and risk management frameworks.
• Audit completed works ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and delivery against SLA’s.
• Provide clear reporting and insight to Executive leadership on current and future property requirements.
• Drive standardisation, process improvement, and innovation across all FM activity.

MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading UK-based, multi-sector organisation to recruit a Head of Facilities on a confidential basis.

This is a leadership appointment responsible for the management, performance, and strategic development of a large and diverse property and facilities estate across the UK.

You will take full ownership of ensuring all buildings and infrastructure are safe, compliant, cost-efficient, and operating to the highest possible standard, while driving continuous improvement across a complex, multi-site environment. This role requires the Head of Facilities to be on site 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end management of facilities and property services across a multi-site UK estate

• Lead the development and rollout of a property-based FM system across the business
• Audit completed works ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and delivery against SLA’s
• Provide clear reporting and insight to Executive leadership on current and future property requirements
• Drive standardisation, process improvement, and innovation across all FM activity
• Build strong cross-functional relationships across the wider business to ensure alignment and delivery

What We’re Looking For:

• Extensive experience in a senior Facilities Management leadership role
• Proven experience operating in a multi-site environment (retail, industrial, logistics, hospitality, or similar)
• Strong background managing technical engineering teams and external contractors
• Demonstrable experience in contract management, procurement, and supplier negotiation
• Proven delivery of capital projects, refurbishments, and maintenance programmes in live environments
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance frameworks
• Excellent budget management and cost control capability
• Professional membership of RICS, CIOB, or IWFM (formerly BIFM)
• Experience implementing FM systems or property management platforms
