Job summary

Biffa Group is seeking an experienced Head of External Reporting to own financial and statutory reporting across the group. You will lead a team of qualified accountants, ensuring IFRS compliance and managing the external audit relationship, with exposure to CFO and senior leaders.

The role involves overseeing year-end and half-year processes, accounting for ~100 entities, and leading complex technical accounting matters including acquisitions and pensions.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with IFRS knowledge and experience in a large group.
• Experience leading consolidation, annual report production and external audits.
• Proven leadership of a finance team and ability to engage senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the External Reporting team, managing year-end and half-year reporting.
• Oversee statutory accounts for ~100 entities and audit interactions.
• Ensure IFRS compliance and disclosure requirements across the Group.
• Provide technical accounting support on acquisitions, pensions and complex judgements.
