A leading Lloyd’s Syndicate in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Head of Exposure Management to join its senior leadership team. Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in insurance/reinsurance, with a strong background in exposure management or risk.
• Deep familiarity with Lloyd’s market and regulatory requirements.
• Advanced understanding of catastrophe models (RMS, AIR) and exposure management methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly proficient in Excel, with experience in VBA, Python, R or Access advantageous.
• Effective communicator, capable of explaining complex models to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
• Experience in reinsurance structuring and insight into multiple classes of business.

Responsibilities

• Lead the central exposure management function, providing strategic direction and day-to-day oversight.
• Develop and maintain robust operating models and documentation for exposure management.
• Oversee regulatory submissions including RDS/RDL, LCM, PRA, and Solvency II returns.
• Drive the syndicate’s business planning from an exposure management perspective, providing insight into forecasted risk and suggesting mitigation strategies.
• Support the structuring and purchasing of outwards reinsurance through detailed exposure analysis and scenario modelling.
• Respond to catastrophe or aggregation events with timely event response analysis.
• Validate internal capital models and exposure tools.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and modelling platforms (e.g., RMS, AIR, AdvantageGo).
• Deliver regular reporting to senior leadership and underwriters on exposure aggregation and risk trends.
• Peer review work from team members to ensure quality and accuracy.

About the Company

An ambitious and fast‑growing Lloyd’s Syndicate is seeking a Head of Exposure Management to join its senior leadership team. This critical role will lead the syndicate’s exposure management strategy and execution, supporting underwriting effectiveness across all lines of business.

About the Role

As part of the senior management function, the Head of Exposure Management will oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of exposure management models and frameworks. The successful candidate will work cross‑functionally with underwriting teams and other key stakeholders to control aggregation risk, support strategic decision‑making, and ensure regulatory compliance.
