Job summary

Nesta is recruiting a Head of Evidence & Improvement to lead the programme’s development and evaluation work. The 3-year fixed-term role is based in Blackfriars, London, with a hybrid arrangement requiring two days in the office.

The role demands strategic thinking, experience overseeing complex evaluations (RCTs, quasi-experimental), and budget management. It offers extensive benefits and reflects Nesta’s 'whatever it takes' culture and commitment to flexible working.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, delivering and/or commissioning complex evaluations
• Strong background in impact evaluation approaches
• Proven ability to translate strategy into delivery plans

Responsibilities

• Shape the EIP’s strategy and translate into programme development and evaluation priorities
• Oversee feasibility studies, pilot and impact evaluations including RCTs and QEDs
• Develop and improve evaluation standards, policies and processes
• Provide senior technical oversight across the portfolio and assess strength of evidence
• Manage budgets and resources for large portfolios
• Build and maintain relationships with funders, authorities and evaluators
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team and drive high performance
