Job summary

Coleg y Cymoedd is recruiting a Head of Estates to lead and develop a multi-site estate across Nantgarw, Ystrad Mynach, Llwynypia and Aberdare. The role blends operational delivery with a strategic, long-term estates vision, moving from reactive maintenance to structured planned preventative maintenance and asset management.

You will manage budgets, procurements and capital projects, drive CAFM data quality, lead teams through change and build consistent standards across campuses, with

Qualifications

• Experience across large, multi-site property portfolios.
• Degree-level qualification in estates/facilities management or equivalent.
• Professional qualification in facilities/estates management (IWFM Level 5+, RICS, BIFM, CIBSE, MCIOB).
• IOSH Managing Safely minimum; NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and embed a structured Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) approach across the estate.
• Improve CAFM systems and asset information quality.
• Develop long-term estate and asset management planning.
• Lead estates activity across a complex multi-site environment.
• Drive consistency in standards across four campuses.
• Manage estates budgets, contractors and suppliers.
• Contribute to procurement and investment decisions.
• Oversee capital projects and future estates investment.
