Job summary

Henry Blue is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Estates & Maintenance to lead estates operations across a large and complex multi-site college estate in Nottingham. The role reports to the Director of Estates and Capital Development and requires strong leadership of Estates and Maintenance teams to improve service delivery and compliance.

You will oversee planned and reactive maintenance, manage the PPM contract and ensure safe, efficient service delivery in line with statutory

Qualifications

• Experience leading estates, maintenance or hard facilities management services.
• Proven track record of improving operational performance and service delivery.
• Experience managing large-scale PPM contracts, contractors, KPIs and SLAs.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, procurement and contract management.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and team development skills.
• Ability to drive accountability, continuous improvement and customer-focused service.

Interim Head of Estates & Maintenance

Location: Nottingham (multi-site)

Start Date: 28th September 2026

Hours: 37 hours over 5 days or 24 hours over 3 days

We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Estates & Maintenance to lead estates operations across a large and complex multi-site college estate.

Reporting to the Director of Estates and Capital Development, you will provide leadership to Estates and Maintenance teams, driving improvements in service delivery, performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. You will oversee planned and reactive maintenance, manage the College-wide Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contract, and ensure estates services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with statutory requirements.

Key Requirements

• Significant experience leading estates, maintenance, or hard facilities management services.
• Strong track record of improving operational performance and service delivery.
• Experience managing large-scale PPM contracts, contractors, KPIs, and SLAs.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, procurement, and contract management.
