Job summary

Decagon in the United Kingdom seeks a Director of Solutions Engineering to build and lead our growing pre-sales function. You will hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, establish scalable best practices, and ensure technical excellence in customer conversations while partnering with Sales, Product, and Engineering to drive measurable business value.

You will engage executive stakeholders at top enterprises, design strategies that align technology with outcomes, and represent Decagon

Qualifications

• 7+ years in pre-sales technical roles (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or equivalent).
• 3+ years leading pre-sales/solutions engineering teams.
• Experience with enterprise customers and complex buying cycles.
• Strong proficiency with enterprise AI deployments, API integrations, and production system architectures.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and manage a team of Solutions Engineers.
• Establish best practices for pre-sales solutioning, proofs of concept, and technical validation.
• Partner with Sales to co-develop go-to-market strategies and align technical execution with business goals.
• Engage with strategic enterprise prospects and guide discovery, solution design, and ROI validation.
• Ensure demonstrations, prototypes, and architectures meet customer needs.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with Product and Engineering for roadmap insights.
• Represent as an executive-level technical presence in customer meetings and events.
• Define scalable processes and assets to support growth.
• Stay current on enterprise AI adoption patterns and competitive landscape.
