United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory seeks a strategic Head of Enterprise Applications to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of core and supporting enterprise systems. You will drive rationalisation, maximise ROI, and shape data governance and compliance across a regulated environment.

The role requires senior leadership in ERP implementation, portfolio management, and cross‑functional collaboration with risk, security, and procurement.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience managing enterprise applications in a regulated environment.
• Direct leadership in developing and implementing ERP with new processes and controls.
• Proven experience in application portfolio management, rationalisation and value optimisation.
• Strong understanding of SaaS, COTS, bespoke, cloud models and related risks.
• Experience operating within regulatory, risk and compliance frameworks.
• Ability translating business strategy into technology outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise applications including core systems and platforms.
• Lead application rationalisation to reduce duplication, debt, and cost while improving usability.
• Define principles for application selection, configuration, and retirement.
• Maximise ROI through adoption, configuration optimisation and process alignment.
• Define and track benefits realisation for applications with business owners.
• Lead sourcing and onboarding of new applications with solid business case and value proposition.
• Ensure new applications meet architectural standards, data, security and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee due diligence of suppliers including financial stability and data protection.
• Provide senior accountability for enterprise data platforms and governance practices.
• Support data use for insight while complying with regulatory constraints.
• Collaborate with risk, security and assurance functions to manage operational and third‑party risks.
• Represent the domain in governance forums and investment boards.
