Job Title: Head of Engineering

Location: Remote working with 50% UK-wide

Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 per annum + car/car allowance and excellent benefits

Role Overview

As the Head of Engineering, you will lead the transformation of the engineering function by developing, implementing, and managing a cohesive engineering strategy. Your focus will be on enhancing technical capabilities, optimizing asset and vendor management, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. Your leadership will ensure the engineering function aligns with the organisation's strategic goals during significant change initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee technical and asset performance across the UK network, ensuring effective delivery in major infrastructure projects and empowering engineering teams.
• Build and maintain internal relationships to enhance effectiveness, productivity, and automation; collaborate with procurement to manage vendor relationships.
• Develop and implement the engineering/technical masterplan for UK operations, focusing on automation, equipment standards, and CAPEX project delivery within budget and schedule.
• Manage automation engineering KPIs to align with organisational objectives.

Key Skills and Experience

• Proven technical operations leadership managing assets and teams across multiple locations.
• Experience in vendor management with a strong customer satisfaction record.
• Results-driven with the ability to adapt to sector changes.
• Effective in a matrix organisation environment.
• Experience with automated warehouses or manufacturing environments.
• Strong change management and resilience skills.
• Extensive experience in multi-site and multinational manufacturing supply chains or advanced 3PL operations.
• Demonstrated success in managing engineering teams with excellent people and change management skills.
• Relevant mechanical or electrical engineering qualification preferred.
• Ability to perform under pressure with a commercially savvy approach to sourcing and negotiations.
