Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a strategic leader to shape the future of Energy Analytics within SSE Renewables. You will lead the function, influence major investment decisions, and drive value across a diverse portfolio in the energy transition.

Based in Reading with flexible options, you will oversee forecasting, performance analytics and portfolio optimisation, building a high-performing team and driving digital transformation across the business.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure or another complex asset-intensive environment.
• Proven success leading multidisciplinary technical, analytical or commercial teams and delivering measurable business value through data-driven decision making.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience influencing major investment decisions, portfolio optimisation and long-term asset performance strategies.
• Strong understanding of energy markets, forecasting methodologies, analytics frameworks and how analytical insight can maximise portfolio value.
• Experience driving organisational capability, innovation, digital transformation and continuous improvement within a complex business environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Energy Analytics function, setting strategic direction, capability and operating model to support SSE Renewables' growth ambitions.
• Provide strategic oversight of energy forecasting, resource assessment, performance analytics and portfolio optimisation to drive business performance.
• Support executive decision-making through independent challenge, expert analysis and recommendations on asset performance and investments.
• Champion innovation, digital transformation and advanced analytics to unlock opportunities and improve performance.
• Build, inspire and develop a high-performing team with a culture of safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
