Head of Design Technology - Fully Qualified

Location:

East of England, Essex, Chelmsford

Job Type:

Permanent, Full-Time

Salary:

£33,075 - £45,037 per annum

Job Duties:

• Lead and manage the Design Technology department
• Develop and implement the curriculum for design and technology subjects
• Provide guidance and support to teaching staff in delivering high-quality lessons
• Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback for improvement
• Stay updated on educational trends and advancements in design technology
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities
• Oversee the department budget and resource allocation
• Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities

Required Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Degree in Design Technology or relevant field
• Proven experience in teaching design and technology subjects
• Demonstrated leadership skills in an educational setting

Education:

Degree in Design Technology or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in design and technology

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of the national curriculum for design and technology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of educators
• Proficient in IT tools and software relevant to design technology
• Organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postgraduate qualification in Education Leadership
• Experience in curriculum development and assessment

Working Conditions:
