Job Title: Head of Geography
Location: Longsight, Manchester
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025

Are you an inspiring and experienced Geography teacher ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a passionate and committed Head of Geography to join our dynamic secondary school community in Longsight, Manchester from September 2025.

As Head of Geography, you will lead a dedicated department, fostering a love for geographical learning and critical thinking across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and ideally Key Stage 5). This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented teacher with leadership aspirations or existing leadership experience to shape and develop an ambitious Geography curriculum that engages, challenges, and inspires students.

  • Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.

  • Develop and deliver an engaging, inclusive, and well-structured curriculum.

  • Support, mentor, and inspire staff within the department.

  • Monitor and track student progress, using data to drive improvement.

  • Contribute to whole-school development and collaborate with senior leaders.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in Geography.

  • Proven experience of excellent classroom practice.

  • A record of successful student outcomes and raising achievement.

  • The ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.

  • Passion for Geography and a commitment to inclusive, high-quality education.
