Job summary

Stott and May Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Platforms & Engineering leader in Greater London to drive growth of commercial data and AI capabilities.

You will lead cloud data platforms using Snowflake and Databricks, shaping architectures and delivery roadmaps for analytics and optimal business outcomes. The role blends technical leadership, commercial strategy and senior client engagement, including presales, POCs and partner relationships, with leadership across engineering and delivery

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in data platforms or data engineering
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong background in modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
• Proven presales experience from discovery to proposals and exec presentations
• Experience establishing data governance frameworks and operating models
• Track record delivering platforms for analytics, data science or marketing use cases

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial data platform proposition across Snowflake and Databricks.
• Lead client discovery, assessments and POCs, routing from value to production.
• Shape target architectures, governance, operating models and roadmaps.
• Advise clients on data governance, ownership, controls and operating models.
• Develop reusable accelerators for ingestion, data quality, modelling and orchestration.
• Build relationships with cloud/data-platform partners to create joint propositions.
• Strengthen bids with platform expertise, outcomes and accelerators.
• Lead presales for strategic opportunities from qualification to design and proposals.
• Connect data-platform investments to analytics, marketing activation and operational efficiency.
• Ensure solutions are credible, viable and deliverable.
• Develop propositions and roadmaps from POC to implementation and optimisation.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams of engineers, architects and delivery professionals.
• Own recruitment, capability development and team deployment.
• Provide senior leadership across major programmes and manage delivery risks.
• Cultivate a culture of engineering quality and continuous improvement.
