Job summary

Harnham is seeking a senior Data Platform Lead to define and execute the enterprise data strategy for a major financial services client in London. You will shape cloud architecture, build a sustainable platform and drive decision-support capabilities across the organisation.

Lead a cross-functional data engineering team and partner with executives to modernise legacy environments, implement governance and comply with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Data Engineering teams and senior technical professionals.
• Proven track record delivering cloud migration and large-scale data transformation programmes.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and modern data platform technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the enterprise Data Platform strategy, roadmap and architecture.
• Lead the migration from legacy data environments to a modern cloud platform.
• Build, develop and scale a high-performing Data Platform and Engineering function.

You'll play a pivotal role in defining data strategy, shaping cloud architecture and building a modern platform that supports business-critical decision making across the organisation.

THE COMPANY

With a strong focus on modernisation, they are building a next-generation cloud data platform and are looking for an experienced leader to drive that journey forward.

THE ROLE

• Define and deliver the enterprise Data Platform strategy, roadmap and architecture
• Lead the migration from legacy data environments to a modern cloud platform
• Build, develop and scale a high-performing Data Platform and Engineering function
• Drive best practice across data engineering, governance, security and compliance
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to influence business-wide data strategy
• Manage third-party vendors and delivery partners to ensure successful execution of strategic programmes

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong leadership experience managing Data Engineering teams and senior technical professionals
• Experience delivering cloud migration and large-scale data transformation programmes
• Strong knowledge of AWS and modern data platform technologies
• Good understanding of data governance, security and regulatory requirements
• Experience operating within regulated industries is beneficial
• Previous experience managing outsourced delivery partners is advantageous

SALARY AND BENEFITS

• Up to £120,000 base salary
• 10% annual bonus
