Hanson Lee seeks a Head of Data Management to lead a high-caliber team focused on Azure and Databricks data platforms within the London Market insurance ecosystem.

You will own data governance, quality, and audit readiness while bridging on-prem SQL Server environments with modern cloud technologies. Stakeholder engagement at senior levels is essential for data trust and governance across underwriting, claims, and finance.

Qualifications

• Strong London Market / Lloyd's insurance background with grasp of insurance data (policy, claims, bordereaux, finance).
• Proven leadership of technical data teams (Data Engineers, Developers, DBAs).
• Hands-on ownership of Azure and Databricks data platforms.
• Experience spanning on-prem (SQL Server) and cloud-based data technologies.
• Data governance, data quality and audit readiness across enterprise data assets.
• Track record delivering multiple data projects in parallel.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior level engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small data team of Data Engineers, Developers and DBAs.
• Own the firm's Azure/Databricks data platform and drive data projects forward.
• Set and enforce governance, quality, and audit readiness standards across data assets.
• Bridge legacy on-prem estates with the cloud, collaborating with underwriting, claims, finance and IT stakeholders.

THE ROLE

Leading a small, capable team of Data Engineers, Developers and DBA's, you will take full ownership of the firm's Azure / Databricks data platform and keep a pipeline of data projects moving, while setting and enforcing the standards for governance, quality and audit readiness across enterprise data assets. This is a hands-on leadership role that needs someone who already understands how London Market data works and can bridge legacy on-prem estates with the modern cloud platform, partnering closely with underwriting, claims, finance and IT stakeholders to make sure the data is trusted, controlled and used well from the start.
