Job summary

Proactive Appointments is seeking a Head of Cyber Security on a permanent, hybrid basis in the South West region of the UK. The role leads cyber security strategy, governance, assurance and resilience within the IT management team.

Ideal candidate has senior management experience, strong knowledge of NIST/ISO27001, and a track record in risk management, security monitoring and KPI reporting. Hybrid work model applies with 3 days on-site weekly.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in cyber security, information security, governance or security management.
• Demonstrable experience developing and delivering cyber or information security strategy.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of NIST, ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
• Strong experience of cyber risk management, audit, assurance and remediation.

Our client, a well-regarded leader in their industry, is seeking an ambitious Cyber Security Leader to join their business on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced cyber security professional with previous experience in a Head of or senior management role, as well as someone looking to take the next step into a strategic security position. You'll join an established IT management team, providing leadership across cyber security, information security, governance, assurance, and resilience.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Significant experience in cyber security, information security, governance or security management.
• Demonstrable experience developing and delivering cyber or information security strategy.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of NIST, ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
• Strong experience of cyber risk management, audit, assurance and remediation.
• Experience overseeing SOC, SIEM, security monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Understanding of vulnerability management, penetration testing and security remediation.
• Experience developing cyber security KPIs, KRIs and management reporting.
• Strong people management, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Confident decision-making and the ability to make pragmatic, proportionate judgements based on risk.
• Broad technical understanding of modern infrastructure, cloud, applications, identity, networks and security operations.
